I am writing to you to say how very thankful I am for the Movers & Shakers Exercise and Counterpunch Parkinson’s Boxing Classes that you run.

Prior to starting these classes I was newly diagnosed with Parkinsons.  I had experienced several falls and was beginning to feel a high level of anxiety about my health and wellbeing.  I thought I’s be needing to use a walking stick or walking frame for support in the very near future. 

I joined your classes and I soon began to feel an increase in my confidence and I have really enjoyed participating in the exercises and boxing activities. I feel stronger and I my stability has improved.  Both Michael and yourself have made me feel very welcome and I enjoy the social aspect of the classes.  I was losing confidence in social settings due to the onset of Parkinsons.  I enjoy the way you get everyone to participate and mix with each other and get them smiling.  You do this very well.  Through your classes I have made new friends who also have Parkinsons.  The one-on-one support and encouragement that you and Michael give is outstanding.  You encouraged me to give everything a go.  Right from the very start I was made to feel welcome.  I enjoy the circuit activities on Wednesday’s class especially the ones focused on footwork.  I never thought I would enjoy boxing activities but I now do.

I am so grateful for the expert advice and support from Julie Mazur in helping me achieve my health and fitness goals. I am still on this journey, but have already seen so much progress in 3 months. With the PH360 programme, Julie identified not only my body type but also introduced me into a new world of holistic thinking about the interconnectedness of my body, mind, and emotions.

The PH360 programme has so much great support, from identifying the right kinds of food to be eating, to online fitness routines, to weekly tips about what to prioritise. Julie Mazur has been training me with my fitness regime for the past two years and I have found her to be an excellent motivator and very a professional trainer. She is always been available if I have had any question about my exercise and has had excellent communication with me about my program as she rings or meets with me to make sure everything is going well, this therefore helps me keep motivated with the program.

Chevy - Running and Personal Training Strengh

In December 2017, I needed some extra help with my training to meet the NZ police fitness requirements.  Becoming a police officer was always a dream of mine. Unfortunately, my fitness was below par as it had been a couple of years since I last played any sport.

To help me achieve the fitness requirements I invested in a personal trainer.  During my month with the first trainer I had felt we weren’t on the same page to meet my fitness abilities and health issues I was facing. Annika - Running

I can highly recommend a great colleague and personal friend of mine Julie of Julie M Fitness.  

When I first met Julie in 2006 I could run maybe 10 or 15 minutes max. Before long Julie had me running a seemingly daunting 10kms and within months of that an unimaginable half marathon. Ironically she even motivated me to do a second half marathon and better my time! 

Throw in a duathlon, triathlon and post natal exercise classes and Julie has glided me from fledgling runner to someone who exercises regularly with confidence.

March 2015 – Completed the Rotorua 10.5km trail run event

July 2015 - Focusing more on her nutrition by reducing portions, increasing frequency of eating, removing sugars and starchy carbs from her diet.
